Let Slatz Yacht Management inspect your next boat or yacht purchase. Surveyors work for insurance companies, but we work for you!

The focus of a pre-purchase inspection is to gather factual information on the yacht’s current condition.

Our pre-purchase survey provides a detailed technical inspection of the boat, which is carried out when the boat is both laid up in the dry dock and afloat. The survey gives our clients a clear understanding of the yacht’s condition, as well as reports on certain items which affect her general condition and value that may be in need of attention. So you can sail her with confidence if all is in order, or enter, with our findings and survey report in hand, into negotiations over the purchase terms, price and conditions with the seller.

Sometimes, you save yourself for a lot of problems and buying a pig in the poke. Typically, we inspect the vehicle at its sale point. A short test is usually included. Inspections are performed with the permission of the seller. The buyer can be present or not present during the inspection.

Surveyors generally do not perform in-depth inspections of a yacht’s engine and mechanical systems. The experienced mechanical and electrical engineers at Slatz work efficiently to assist you in the purchase of a vessel or to provide additional inspections and reports for finance companies.

Our report will also be of help to obtain insurance with your intended insurance company, against favorable terms and conditions.

We are open and objective when surveying and explain our activities and findings at the spot during the survey towards buyer and seller. With our purchase inspection, you fulfill your duty to investigate and as such cannot be accused of negligence.

So let Slatz Yacht Management conduct your yacht’s next pre-purchase inspection and be your trained eyes and ears.

We will inspect the vessel keel to mast, forward to aft, port to starboard, and tell you if you are purchasing a fiberglass hole in the water that will divest you of your savings over the next five years. We generally find more than twice our professional fee in needed repairs, which will assist you in negotiating a better price for your next boat purchase after our inspection is conducted.

Pre-purchase condition Survey of your yacht or boat, what Slatz Yacht Management team do for you!

In our extensive condition survey report are among others included the visible condition of the hull, deck, and superstructure, operation of machinery, technical installations, electrical installations, gas, rigging, construction of the ship and a short trial run. A full pre-purchase condition inspection usually takes a full day. In the day’s thereafter the report is written,  we again check our notes and pictures taken for deficiencies.

Surveys are carried out by non-destructive means and this can only be changed if the boat owners’ approval is given. In addition, it is important to mention that the survey can be tailored to suit the clients’ needs.

Our survey process is divided into three steps, which are:
